Maria Katrina Alcantara Fajardo (goes by “Katrina”) was born and raised in the Philippines, but has resided in Virginia and Michigan for more than 10 years. She is a junior with a major in Neuroscience and minor in Spanish on the pre-medical track. Additionally, as an advocate for social injustices and inequities, Katrina gets involved in multiple cultural awareness and service-providing organizations. She is the Secretary of CTRL+A, an inclusive dance group under APASO that offers different types of cultural dances and wide variety of genres. At MSU’s Student Chapter of Doctors Without Borders, she works as a Treasurer where she collects and promotes donations to partnering organizations which help to provide medical resources where they are scarce. Katrina is also known to be a passionate flutist and pianist, bubble tea addict, and frequent movie-watcher.
Chelsi graduated from MSU in Fall 2019 with a degree in Human Biology. She is currently taking a gap year while applying to medical school and is working in the Klump Lab for the first time beginning Fall 2020.
